World Liberty Financial Considers $1.5B Nasdaq-Listed Firm to Hold WLFI Tokens

Trump-Backed Crypto Venture Plans Treasury Model Similar to Strategy

World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture supported by the Trump family, is exploring the launch of a publicly traded company to hold its WLFI tokens, targeting roughly $1.5 billion in fundraising, Bloomberg reported. Discussions with major technology and crypto investors are reportedly moving quickly, though the deal’s structure has yet to be finalized.

The proposed entity would join the growing sector of digital-asset treasury companies – publicly traded firms that hold crypto reserves. Such companies have raised an estimated $79 billion in 2025 for Bitcoin acquisitions alone.

According to investor materials, the World Liberty treasury vehicle would be a Nasdaq-listed shell company acquired by the venture. This approach follows the path set by Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy, now rebranded as Strategy, which transitioned into a Bitcoin holding firm in 2020. Strategy has since accumulated more than $72 billion in BTC and reached a market cap nearing $113 billion.

The model has inspired numerous imitators, ranging from a Japanese budget hotel chain to new treasury firms for Ether, Litecoin, Sui, and other altcoins. Earlier this year, Trump Media – another Trump-linked business – purchased $2 billion in Bitcoin for its own reserves.

In June, Donald Trump reported earning $57.4 million from his stake in World Liberty Financial, holding 15.75 billion WLFI governance tokens, according to his 2025 public financial disclosure. The company has raised approximately $550 million through two public token sales, with prominent backers including Tron founder Justin Sun and Web3Port.

Founded last year, World Liberty Financial offers USD1, a dollar-backed stablecoin, and has plans to expand into crypto lending, positioning itself as a challenger to traditional finance.
