Drake Drops Bitcoin Bar in New Track ‘What Did I Miss?’

Bitcoin Mention Marks Growing Presence in Global Pop Culture

Drake made headlines over the weekend by referencing Bitcoin in his newly released song “What Did I Miss?”, signaling the cryptocurrency’s continued rise in mainstream entertainment.

The Canadian hip hop star, known for previous high-stakes crypto wagers — including a $1 million Bitcoin bet on the 2022 Super Bowl — alluded to Bitcoin’s volatility in the track’s opening lines:

“I look at this shit like a BTC, could be down this week, then I’m up next week. I don’t give a fuck if you love me. I don’t give a fuck if you like me. Askin’ me ‘How did it feel?’ Can’t say it didn’t surprise me.”

Bitcoin’s inclusion in pop lyrics, film, and television reflects a broader cultural shift, as the digital asset steadily gains recognition beyond financial circles and into the realm of global entertainment and identity.

When Will Bitcoin Mass Adoption Become Reality?

Back in 2022, Bitcoin mining firm Blockware projected global BTC adoption would reach 10% by 2030, drawing comparisons to past technological revolutions such as the rise of electricity, automobiles, and the Internet.

According to a March 2025 report from Bitcoin services company River, roughly 4% of the global population currently holds Bitcoin — still well below its estimated total addressable market.

The report found that developed countries tend to have higher adoption rates, while institutional players are increasingly shaping market dynamics.

Major firms like Strategy and Metaplanet have transitioned toward Bitcoin-focused treasury strategies, while others are using BTC as a hedge against inflation, currency risk, and geopolitical instability.

Meanwhile, the launch and expansion of spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to remove technical barriers for new entrants, making Bitcoin exposure easier for both retail and institutional investors.
