Mint Runes with Luminex
Minting is the actual creation of the runes tokens based on the specifications set during the etching.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to mint runes tokens so you can start participating in Bitcoin’s new token economy.
Mint Runes
Step 1: Visit the Luminex Home Page and click the “Mint Runes“, than connect wallet.
Step 2: Browse the popular Runes displayed on the dashboard, or use the search field to find a specific Rune you want to mint.
Once you’ve selected a Rune, click on “MINT“.
Step 3: Set Minting Order Details
- Pre Split: allows you to mint 23 times per UTXO and is faster since you don’t have to wait for UTXO splitting to perform multiple mints simultaneously.
- Auto Split: allows up to 2300 mints at once by automatically splitting UTXOs. It’s best for bulk minting if split UTXOs aren’t pre-prepared, but it uses two blocks instead of one, making it slower during high fee periods.
Step 4: “Minting Fees” section shows you how much it costs for Minting Runes.
You can also set the network fee here. The picture shows “Medium 2 sats/vB” and “Custom“. Click on “Custom” to set the network fee rate. Then click “MINT”
Step 5: Confirm the Transaction
After confirming your details, submit the mint request. You will need to sign the transaction and pay using Bitcoin from your payment address.
The minting process takes 10-20 minutes. After this time, you will see the Rune you minted in your wallet.
This tutorial explains how to mint Rune tokens using the Luminex. Users start by connecting their wallet, selecting a Rune from the Explorer tab, and setting minting details such as the destination address and minting fees. After submitting and signing the transaction, the newly minted Rune tokens will appear in the wallet within 10-20 minutes.
