Leading Bitcoin Wallet Rolls Out Major Upgrades in 2025 Including BTC Staking, 500+ Crypto Swaps, and Instant Payments

Xverse, the Bitcoin-native wallet known for its focus on usability and decentralization, has launched a sweeping series of product upgrades in the first half of 2025, signaling its ambition to become a central hub for Bitcoin finance (BitcoinFi) and multi-chain crypto functionality.

The latest updates include support for Lightning Network payments, integration with Ethereum Layer 2 network Starknet, a new cross-chain swapping tool for over 500 crypto assets, and the debut of Xverse Earn, a non-custodial staking platform for Bitcoin and Stacks (STX).

Xverse Earn Unlocks BTC Staking for the Non-Custodial Era

With the release of Xverse Earn, users can now put their idle Bitcoin to work without giving up custody. The platform enables users to stake BTC and stack STX in a unified web interface. This marks the first time Bitcoin holders can access native yield generation without relying on centralized intermediaries.

Xverse said the move is part of a broader effort to offer users a “complete earning experience within a non-custodial environment.”

Starknet Integration Opens Multi-Chain Access to BitcoinFi

Xverse’s integration with Starknet, a leading Ethereum Layer 2 network, connects Bitcoin users to a broader multi-chain DeFi ecosystem. The update allows seamless cross-chain functionality and opens up “millions of ways to explore BitcoinFi on Starknet,” according to the company.

By bridging Bitcoin into smart contract ecosystems, Xverse positions itself at the intersection of two of the most active blockchain communities.

500+ Crypto-to-BTC Swaps Now Available

In a major push toward interoperability, Xverse launched Cross-Chain Swap, enabling users to convert over 500 cryptocurrencies into Bitcoin. The service is available natively within the Xverse browser extension, mobile wallet, and dApp.

This makes Xverse one of the few wallets to offer multi-chain swaps directly within the user interface—streamlining the path to Bitcoin accumulation from any chain.

Lightning Payments Arrive With HeySati Integration

Xverse also added support for Lightning Network transactions through a partnership with HeySati. The integration allows users to make instant Bitcoin payments with low fees, unlocking fast, scalable transactions for everyday use.

The feature reflects growing demand for high-speed BTC payments and aligns with broader efforts to make Bitcoin more accessible for daily commerce.

Fiat On-Ramp Extended to 130+ Currencies, 200+ Countries

Xverse upgraded its fiat on-ramp in collaboration with GetOnramper, allowing users in over 200 countries to buy Bitcoin using more than 130 local currencies. The update simplifies the user onboarding process and provides a frictionless gateway into Bitcoin.

The company said the improvement would be key in expanding adoption globally, particularly in underbanked regions.

WhatTheFork Campaign Empowers Bitcoin Protocol Governance

In addition to infrastructure updates, Xverse launched WhatTheFork.wtf, a community education tool designed to raise awareness around upcoming Bitcoin soft fork proposals, such as OP_CAT and OP_CTV.

Users can explore these proposals, sign them with their Xverse wallet, and publicly show support with a single click—making protocol participation accessible to non-technical users.
